Govt bond analyzer: Streamlines complex financial analyses
Professional financial applications can present a considerable obstacle for user experience (UX) due to the complex nature of business operations and the abundance of data. CitiVelocity's (CV) fixed-income data analysis tools face the same challenge, as they contain millions of live market data, calculations, and financial metrics.
One such tool available to global institutional traders on CitiVelocity is the Govt Bond Analyzer, which provides a comprehensive data analysis service that covers both developed and emerging markets. It accomplishes this goal through the use of robust data visualization and professional calculation metrics, effectively interpreting exclusive market data. The project's main challenge is designing a user-friendly approach that caters to sophisticated business requirements while addressing the inherent complications associated with UX design.

Problem:
Various entry points result in disjointed tools
Previously, we provide govt bond analyses services thorugh various of entry points in the menu. Developed markets government bonds, including those in the US, EU, and Australia, are located in the place, whereas emerging market (EM) data is segmented into a separate tab in the menu. This creates barriers for govt bonds traders to capture global market wrap. Addtionaly, due to the varying time periods and changing business requirements during their development, these pages have inherently led to inconsistent data layouts and fragmented interactions, thus resulting in an unsatisfactory experience.
To provide a holistic experience and build a data-rich tool, we initiated the restructing process to combine these isolated tools into a powerful government bond analytics tool.
